Who am I? and why might you be interested in mentoring from me? I’m glad you asked.
My name is Katie Malinski, and I’m an LCSW-S. Graduated from UT’s SSW in 1999, and have been practicing in Austin ever since. I’ve worked in residential treatment, wilderness camps, home-based settings, school based settings, and private practice. I’m a published author–my book “How to talk to your teen about anything” was published in 2021. I have been a featured expert on a national parenting website, and give talks regularly to local school and parent groups. I am the creator of the Arc of the Tantrum (now available in 6 languages!) I’ve created 2 “passive income” side gigs (HIPAA for Therapists and How to Talk to Your Kids about Divorce) and own my office building. I’ve been in private practice since 2004, starting with Medicaid and CPS contracts, and transitioned into a fully private pay practice about… 16? years ago. Some of my areas of clinical focus include parenting, child & teen behavior, childhood sexual development, parenting through divorce, narcissism, and ADHD. I’m very relational, authentic, organized and boundaried. I love humor in the therapy room, and everywhere else, too.
I’ve recently found myself at a point in my life where I’m ready & able to do more mentoring to other therapists, and I’m excited about it. My goal is to help early career therapists lay a foundation for a successful, meaningful, sustainable career in this field.
If this sounds like something you’d appreciate, fill out this form and I will get back with you.
